A kingdom apart
When we think of living things, we often imagine the animal and plant kingdoms. But there is a third kingdom, just as fascinating: that of fungi. Neither plants nor animals, they constitute a vast family that includes yeasts, molds, truffles, chanterelles, medicinal mushrooms… and much more.
Scientists estimate that there are over 3 million species of fungi, of which only a small fraction are known. They are everywhere: in forests, soils, our kitchens, our bodies.
The hidden genius of mycelium
Beneath the earth, invisible to our eyes, lies an extraordinary network: the mycelium. This is the vegetative part of the fungus, made up of microscopic filaments called hyphae.
The mycelium plays several major roles:
- Recycling: it decomposes dead organic matter and enriches the soil.
- Connecting: it creates veritable “communication highways” between plants. Some research speaks of an underground internet where trees exchange nutrients and signals via the mycorrhizal network.
- Protect: in symbiosis with the roots, it strengthens the plants' resistance to diseases and environmental stresses.
Without fungi, there would be no lush forests or ecological balances as we know them.
Virtues… and dangers
Not all mushrooms are edible, far from it. Some are culinary or medicinal treasures, while others are toxic or even deadly. Hence the need for absolute caution when foraging.
- Edible mushrooms: chanterelles, ceps, morels… they enrich our plate and provide fiber, vitamins and minerals.
- Medicinal mushrooms: used for millennia in China, Japan or Siberia, mushrooms such as reishi, cordyceps, chaga or maitake strengthen immunity, support energy and help manage stress.
- Toxic ones: some species, such as the death cap mushroom, can be deadly even in very small doses.
The fungal world is therefore both a realm of allies and a universe to be approached with respect.
Medicinal mushrooms, valuable allies
Increasingly studied by modern science, medicinal mushrooms are revealing amazing properties:
- Reishi: nicknamed “mushroom of immortality”, it supports the immune and nervous systems.
- Cordyceps: improves endurance, vitality and oxygenation.
- Hericium (lion's mane): nourishes the nervous system, promotes memory and concentration.
- Chaga: powerful antioxidant, cell protector.
- Maitake: regulates metabolic balance and strengthens the immune system.
These mushrooms are part of a vision of prevention and regeneration, rather than a logic of "a quick boost".
Our inspiration at Noésia
At Noésia, we see mushrooms as messengers of balance: they teach cooperation, resilience and the link between living beings.
That's why we've chosen to place them at the heart of our drinks. Combined with other adaptogenic plants, they create a synergy that nourishes vitality, supports the nervous system, and provides gentle, stable, and lasting energy.
Each cup is a simple and tasty way to reconnect with this ancient natural intelligence.
